The Embassy of Pakistan in Minsk commemorated Youm-e-Istehsal today, marking the seventh anniversary of India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019, which sought to alter the internationally recognized disputed status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
The event was held at the Embassy premises and attended by members of the Pakistani community as well as Belarusian friends.
During the event, the Charge d’affaires briefed participants on the worsening human rights situation in IIOJK. He paid tribute to the courage, resilience, and unwavering resolve of the people of IIOJK, and underlined that Pakistan remains steadfast in its support for the just struggle of the people of Jammu & Kashmir for the realisation of their right to self-determination, as enshrined in the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Messages from Pakistan’s leadership were also read out, highlighting the nation’s stance and solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In addition, a short documentary was screened, offering a visual representation of the issues faced by the region.
The event also included a photo exhibition displaying poignant images that reflected the struggles and resilience of the people of IIOJK. Participants had the opportunity to view these compelling photographs and reflect on the significance of the occasion.
