Webinar on “Hybrid Warfare and its Relevance in the Modern World
On 12 October 2021, the Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS) of Pakistan, in cooperation with the Academy of Public Administration of Belarus organized a webinar on “Hybrid Warfare and its Relevance in the Modern World”. A member of the CGSS Expert Council, Advisor to the United Nations Development Program in Pakistan Mr. Tariq Malik was the key note speaker, which was attended by the faculty and students of the Academy.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan was also invited to participate in the lecture, who gave the welcoming remarks and highlighted various facets of growing Pakistan-Belarus relations. Ambassador of Belarus to Pakistan Andrei Metelitsa also spoke on this occasion.
Tariq Malik gave a comprehensive presentation covering various definitions of the concept of “hybrid war”, basics of psychological influence and creation of reality, the mechanisms of creating and spreading fake news. He shared the importance of formulating a cohesive response to this form of threat, and termed hybrid warfare to be the future of all wars.
First Vice-Rector of the Academy of Management Olga Soldatova thanked Mr. Malik for an interesting and informative lecture and expressed confidence that cooperation between the Academy of Administration and the Center for Global and Strategic Studies will be fruitful.
The CGSS had recently signed an MOU with the Intitute of Strategic Research of Belarus for promotion of collaboration and this was the first event of a series of planned activities.
