On the occasion of internal Women’s Day, let’s remember the Pakistani Women who excelled in their fields !!

Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto (1953-2007), became the first ever woman head of a democratic government in the Muslim world. She served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan (twice), the Leader of the Opposition, and the Chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). Her struggle for restoration of democracy in Pakistan is unparalleled.

Dr. Fehmida Mirza, a Pakistani parliamentarian, has served as the 18th and only women Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2008-2013.

Hina Rabbani Khar was the youngest person and the first woman Foreign Minister of Pakistan (January 2011-March 2013).

Justice Nasira Javid Iqbal, a jurist and law professional has served as the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court from 1994-2002.

Lt.Gen. Nigar Johar Khan, the first and only three-star general of Pakistan Army Medical Corps.
Samina Khayal Baig, Pakistani high-altitude mountaineer who became the first and the youngest Muslim woman to climb the World’s highest peak ‘Mount Everest’ and the Seven Summits (at the age of 21).

Sana Mir, played 226 international cricket matches and led Pakistan National Women’s Cricket Team in ODIs and T20Is. She was first Pakistani women bowler to take 100 wickets.

Mohtrama Fatima Jinnah, younger sister of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and an icon of Pakistan Movememt, stood side by side with her brother during his struggle for an independent homeland for Muslim in the Sub-continent. She proved to be the most effective woman leader of her era. Thanking you Madr-e-Millat (Mother of the Nation) for your untiring services to the nation.
