Sajjad Haider Khan
Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus
Born in August 1970, Mr Sajjad Haider Khan, joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan (FSP) in February 2000. He has a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Punjab University, Lahore.
Mr Sajjad is an alumnus of Civil Services Academy, Lahore (Pakistan), Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad (Pakistan), National Institute of Management, Islamabad (Pakistan) and National School of Public Policy, Lahore (Pakistan). He also undertook short courses abroad namely; Al-Imam University, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies (Honolulu, Hawaii, USA), Training Centre for International Diplomats, Berlin (Germany) and Centre for Education & Training, Jakarta (Indonesia).
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has worked in Europe Section, Training & Career Planning Section and as Director (Africa), Director (General Services), Director (Organization & Career Planning), and Director USA. He has also worked at the Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad as Director Programme for one year.
He has worked at several Pakistan Missions Abroad including Damascus (Syria) from April 2004 to October 2007 as Third Secretary/Second Secretary, Budapest (Hungary) from Dec 2009 till December 2012 as First Secretary, Berlin (Germany) from January 2013 till August 2016 as Counsellor and Jakarta (Indonesia) from July 2018 to October 2020 as Minister/ Deputy Head of Mission, where he performed as Charge d’ Affaires a.i. from May-Oct 2020
He was appointed as Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus in May 2020. He assumed responsibilities in October 2020.
He speaks Urdu, English, Arabic, Balti and has basic knowledge of German and Bahasa Indonesia.
He is married with two sons.
