The Lower Kachura Lake or Shangrila Lake is one of two Kachura Lakes in Skardu, along with the Upper Kachura Lake, in Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan. It belongs to the Shangrila Resort, the most famous hotel complex in Skardu. Lake is located at 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) above sea level. It is in the Karakoram Mountain Range of the Western Himalayas, the greater Kashmir region, and in the Indus River basin. Lake is 70 metres (230 ft)deep. In summer it has a temperature of 15 °C (59 °F). In winter the surface is frozen solid.
