Pakistan Belarus Cooperation in Information Technology (IT) discussed
Today, Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan accompanied by the Deputy Head of Mission Abdullah Amin and Mr. Shahmeer Amir ( who has been recently ranked the third most accomplished bug hunter in the world by Dark Reading) visited Hi-Tech Park. Deputy Head of the Park Mr. Kirill Zalessky, Head of the Global Cooperation Office Ms. Lyubov Mayorova and the Chief Specialist of the Public Relations and International Cooperation Department Mr. Timur Luksha received the delegation and briefed them on the company and its achievements.
The Ambassador shared the IT achievements of Pakistan, the abundance of trained Human Resources in Pakistan, the growing number of freelancers in Pakistan and readiness of Pakistani firms to provide backend support to Belarusian IT Industry. The two sides discussed the opportunities of cooperation between HTP and the IT Park in Lahore, as well as the possibilities of having joint ventures, establishment of the EPAM office in Pakistan. It was agreed to hold a virtual interaction between the managements of IT Park Lahore with HTP in the near future to find the areas of mutual interest for further cooperation.
Hi-Tech Park Belarus is considered the leading IT cluster in Central and Eastern Europe with the best conditions for setting up and developing business. It provides its residents with minimal taxes, instruments of the so called “English law”, possibility of free movement of capital, transparent regulations for block chain and crypto currency, a lot of other benefits. HTP resident companies may operate within 37 types of activities: from advanced solutions in the sphere of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the development of top-level software, engineering solutions, games and mobile applications, IT for healthcare, agriculture, fintech, banking software, laser technologies, optics. In 2020 the HTP export amounted to the unprecedented $2.7 billion which is likely to increase by around 30 % this year.
