On 16 Aug 2022, Amb Sajjad Haider Khan attended the award ceremony at Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange(BUCE) where the first Pakistani company Sakafat Forever was accredited as the broker. Mr. Jawad Slehria, Chairman of the Pakistani company, and its representative Zamad Khan received the accreditation.

The Chairman of the BUCE Mr. Alexander Osmolovsky and the Head of the organization’s Foreign Relations Department, Mr. Alexander Bashily briefed the Ambassador about the progress in the development of cooperation between the business representatives of the two countries as well as the plans for its future growth.

Established in 2004 and the only mercantile exchange in Belarus, BUCE has flourished to enlist 26000 companies from 66 countries as its partners. Boasting Eastern Europe’s largest spot exchange, it clocked in 400,000 transactions with an annual turnover of USD 2.5 billion.

The setup is fashioned as a virtual platform for commodity trade wherein the buyers and sellers across the continents are facilitated through secure business transactions.
